How Do I Get a Category C+E Licence?

To obtain a Category C+E licence, you must complete an articulated vehicle training programme.

The programme lasts 20 days and combines classroom instruction with practical driving experience. During the course, you will learn not only how to drive vehicle combinations safely and efficiently, but also how to:

Load and secure cargo correctly
Plan routes efficiently
Comply with driving and rest time regulations
Maintain a safe working environment
Perform routine vehicle maintenance
Handle minor operational issues and defects

Many consider the course an advanced transport qualification, but it is best described as a direct extension of your existing truck licence.

What Will I Learn?

Safe and professional operation of articulated vehicles requires both technical knowledge and practical driving skills. At AMU SYD, you will gain both.

During the course, you will complete industry-related tasks and receive practical driving lessons on:

A driving skills facility, including slippery road training

Carry out preventive vehicle maintenance

Rigid truck with trailer (drawbar combination)
Tractor unit with semi-trailer

Choose the Vehicle for Your Driving Test

The course ends with a practical driving test.

At AMU SYD, you can choose whether to take your test in a tractor-trailer combination or in a rigid truck with trailer.

This allows you to take the test in the vehicle you feel most comfortable driving, helping you approach the final assessment with confidence.

Take Your Truck and Trailer Licence at AMU SYD

If you do not already hold a Category C truck licence, you must obtain one before upgrading to Category C+E.

If you are unemployed, you may be eligible for support through your unemployment insurance fund or job centre. Contact them to learn more about your options for obtaining a Category C and C+E licence and pursuing a career as a professional truck driver.

Admission Requirements

To enrol in the Category C+E programme, you must:

Hold a valid Category C truck licence
Be able to obtain an approved medical certificate

If you are under 21 years of age, you must also hold a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in addition to your Category C licence.

If you turn 21 before the day of your driving test, the CPC requirement does not apply.

Målgruppe: Chauffører med primært operative opgaver, administrative medarbejdere med primært opgaver inden for ordremodtagelse og planlægning, mellemledere som fx kørselsforvaltere og planlæggere, selvstændige vognmænd.

Beskrivelse: Deltageren kan, efter gennemført uddannelse:

- Føre vogntog, kategori C/E samt udføre daglig vedligehold af vogntog, og udbedre mindre driftsfejl.
- Udføre korrekt lastning og sikre denne.
- Anvende diverse udstyr som f.eks. tippelad, veksellad, hejselad sideloader, mv.
- Planlægge ruter i henhold til gældende køre-/hviletidsbestemmelser.
- Udvælge og anvende nødvendige transportpapirer korrekt
- Anvende diverse mobile kommunikationssystemer.
- Udføre fagligt relaterede opgaver under hensyntagen til gældende sikkerheds-, arbejdsmiljø- og forsikringsbestemmelser mv.
